Great Reading and Language Arts Sites

Clean Up Your Grammar

This site is great to give students practice sorting nouns and verbs. It is an interactive sorting game that gives students immediate feedback. Here is the scenario: The beach is getting dirty with bad grammar, and we need your help to clean up the beach. Pick your level (Level 1 or 2), and put the trash in the correct garbage can. You can also play this game in Spanish.

Contraction Practice

This site gives students practice with contractions. The Contraction Cards can be used in different ways: As a concentration or matching game, as flashcards, or they can be used together to create a card game which children can play as partners and try to make contraction pairs for points.

This site is dedicated to Dr. Seuss. It provides a biography about the author, a list of works, click and play games, events coming up in the future, and a link to a bookstore.
